Bye policy: Got a conflict and you can only attend 3 of the 4 rounds? No problem. A half-point bye (limit one) is available for any round, but must be requested before the start of Round 1 and is irrevocable after Round 1 begins. Latecomers who arrive before 12:30pm may take a half-point bye for the missed round. Players who receive a full-point bye in Round 1 are not eligible to request a half-point bye in subsequent rounds.

Cell phone policy: Phones must be put on silent or vibrate. If you must make or answer a call, you must leave the playing room. Any audible ringtone or notification sound (other than vibrate buzz) emitted by a phone while games are in progress will result in a time penalty being assessed for the first offense. A second offense will result in a harsher penalty up to and including forfeiture of your game in progress.

Other requirements: Current USCF membership is required of all participants.

This tournament will use an increment time control. If your clock doesn't support increment time controls, that's okay. Cherry Chess tournaments use this order of clock preference:

  1. Digital clock set to Game/45 with increment 30 seconds (most preferred)
  2. Digital clock set to Game/45 with delay 30 seconds
  3. Digital clock set to Game/45 with delay 5 seconds
  4. Digital clock set to Game/45 with no delay
  5. Analog clock set to Game/45 (least preferred)
Here is a link that explains for many popular clock models how to set your clock for increment.

No registration needed. Just show up.
